About Me

My name is German Fernandez, and I’m a motivated and curious IT professional with a deep passion for databases. My journey in IT began at the age of 13 when I started tinkering with an old laptop at home, replacing its keyboard to enhance my gaming experience. This early passion for technology led me to build my own computer, a project funded by my job at a local fast-food restaurant in Florida. My professional turning point came when I worked at an MSP, where I gained invaluable knowledge and decided to delve deeper into IT, with a particular fascination for databases. Their complexity and challenges captivated me, driving me to not only understand but master this intricate world.

On a more personal note, I was born in the United States but raised in the Dominican Republic, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. Being fluent in both English and Spanish has enriched my personal and professional life. I’m an avid lover of outdoor activities and sports. Running, biking, swimming, and playing futbol are just a few of my favorite ways to stay active. I also cherish relaxing and spending quality time with my family. Being married to a Colombian has added even more flavor to my life, including a love for ‘Bandeja Paisa’ – a must-mention when it comes to food.

My goal for this website and blog is to share my experiences and ongoing learning journey with you. I hope to give back to the community, engage with like-minded enthusiasts, and perhaps even share some tech insights over a good meal. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
